- Cases must be bored to accept 3-5/8″ bore cylinders, and a minor crankcase clearancing operation for the crankpin nut must be performed.
- 77-89 style pinion gear and oil pump drive gears must be used when installing S&S flywheels in 90-99 engines.

I was eager to try the 96 inch Sidewinder kit to give my bike more power, but installing it was too involved for a casual rider like me, requiring machining the engine case and buying additional parts – I’d hoped for a simpler bolt-on solution so unless you’re ready for a full rebuild, I’d look elsewhere.

I recently installed the big bore 96-inch Sidewinder engine kit on my bike and have been blown away by the huge boost in torque and acceleration it delivers. This high quality, American made kit really wakes up the performance of an otherwise stock engine.
