The 640 Cam from S&S offers optimized valve timing events for large engines and reduced overlap and fast ramps for better cylinder pressure, though installing their made-in-USA cam was a breeze, I’m excited to see how this thoughtfully designed cam improves my engine’s performance.

This S&S 640 Cam – Evolution is a great camshaft for large displacement engines, I’m just a weekend biker but I could tell this cam really woke up my 110″ motor with the power delivery being so smooth throughout the RPM range, S&S says they test these cams extensively before releasing them and you can tell, fitment was also easy thanks to the lower TDC lift, the delivery did take longer than expected but I’m glad I waited because the packaging was very secure with no damage at all, overall I’m super happy with this camshaft and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get more power out of their big V-twin, when compared to other cams I’ve used this S&S cam blows them away, I’m just giving my quick thoughts as a casual user but I can say this cam lived up to my expectations.

As a casual user I was not terribly impressed with the 640 Cam Evolution from S and S, the performance did not live up to expectations and given the cams average at best performance compared to competitors and the cryptic installation notes I can only give this cam a low rating, S and S would do well to improve performance and refine installation instructions to match the premium pricing of this product.
