The Tour Pak backrest pad looked good at first and offered some lower back support, but the vinyl material trapped heat and lacked grip, and the foam compressed over time reducing comfort and support, so I don’t recommend this backrest for long rides despite the high price.

I was thrilled when my backrest pad arrived, mostly because it meant I could finally sit upright without toppling over like a turtle. This slab of foam really ties the whole rigid discomfort look together, though my spine has never felt more supported as long as I avoid any bumps. I can’t recommend this backrest enough to anyone looking to experience a new level of riding misery!
