The XC1 Guard Underwear promises protection and freedom of movement, but really just leaves you hot, sweaty and chafed – for most riders, there are likely more comfortable options out there.
Bryce –
The XC1 Guard Underwear provides flexible protection and breathability during long rides thanks to its 4-way stretch fabric and strategic padding placement though some may find the compression fit too snug.

The XC1 Guard Underwear from this brand offers serious protection for mountain bikers without sacrificing comfort based on my testing. As an avid mountain biker I appreciate the lightweight flexible padding that doesn’t restrict movement while biking.

The XC1 Guard Underwear lives up to its name by providing flexible protection and comfort for my casual weekend rides though the lightweight padding shields my hips and tailbone from bumps and the narrow chamois cushions without adding bulk between my legs so despite the high price I’d highly recommend this to fellow weekend warriors searching for high-performance low-profile protection.

I purchased the XC1 Guard Underwear for mountain biking and have been really impressed. The stretchy fabric and padding provide great protection and comfort without restricting my movement on the bike.
Chris –
the xc1 guard underwear chafes real bad and squeezes you like an anaconda, save your money and dignity and get some regular padded bike shorts instead

These XC1 undies seemed cool but the padding was straight up useless for real mountain biking, it didn’t protect me at all when I ate dirt so I’d say pass unless you just want some high tech underwear vibes for casual rides.
